Following the Dr Isaac Land’s keynote on Monday, there will be a complimentary drinks reception in Foyer A of the Ruth Deech Building at 17.00.

We have dinner booked at 19.00 at the Al Shami Lebanese restaurant at 25 Walton Crescent, Oxford, OX1 2JG.  Dinner will cost £15 per head, plus drinks, please pay at the restaurant.

The conference will feature three keynotes from Professor Joanne Begiato, Dr Isaac Land and Dr Mary Conley, in addition to thirty-two papers on the themes of visual culture; bravery, honour and heroism; material culture and technology; gender; race and empire; sexualities; seafarers and domesticity; and public spectacle and feelings.

The Maritime Masculinities Conference takes place at St Anne’s College, Oxford on Monday 19 and Tuesday 20 December 2016.
